Why now?

Humanity faces three interlinked issues - the triple planetary crisis - of climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss. Each of these issues has its own causes and effects and each needs to be resolved if we are to have a viable future.

The Nature Imperative recognises the urgent understanding needed to stop and reverse environmental harm, especially pollution, by changing how we produce and consume natural resources supporting a nature-positive future.

Who we are

After serving as Global Lead in Biodiversity & Ecosystems at Ramboll (a Top10 consulting firm) guiding a team of 300+ specialists in delivering nature-based solutions, it was time to found The Nature Imperative to work more directly and closely with clients creating positive environmental outcomes.

Company Director Samantha Deacon is passionate about the natural environment and driving impactful change.

An accomplished consultant with more than 25 years’ experience leading global nature strategies, environmental risk and product stewardship programmes. She is recognised for her enthusiasm, research and innovation, deep technical expertise paired with exceptional communication and leadership.

The Nature Imperative can draw upon a wide network of other consultancies and researchers for a team approach.
